Backseat Mafia are proud to present the video for popular Hobart indie pop-rockers Nice House‘s latest single, Holiday.

The band, known for their exuberant live performances have been showing their genre-bending wares around the island state of Tasmania for a while now with appearances at Party in the Paddock, MONA FOMA, Taste of Summer, Bonzaki Festival, the Reclink Community Cup, and Junction Arts Festival mixed in with regular gigs in and around Hobart. With all of this, and given the state of the world we are living in currently, Nice House have declared that they want to take back their energy with the issue of the independently released and highly infectious new single, Holiday.

Following on from the March release of ‘Caroline’ (see below) replete with its’ summery vibes, Holiday is a straighter punch direct from the band’s rock and roll roots. A brief drum/snare intro and statement of intent starts the song before it goes from nought to one hundred in no time at all. The song’s energy is all positive and the accompanying video clip perfectly encapsulates the band’s sound and zany on-stage presence. It has its’ feet firmly planted in the indie scene whilst also being loaded with oodles of pop sensibilities.

The band tell us “Sometimes the world is blaring so god damn loud that you just want to TURN OFF THE NEWS and hide away. Wow, it’s so nice to get away! On a Holiday! Why are people arguing on the internet so much? Don’t they have jobs and plants to water!? It’s time to throw away your phone, lock and key. Go on Holiday and LOVE LOVE LOVE for free!“

Holiday is perfect festival fare, and thoroughly deserving of a stack of airplay throughout the independent and community radio networks around Australia

Holiday will be available on all good streaming services from the 3rd of November. In the meantime, check out the video below.
