Independent pop and R&B singer-songwriter Slay Raché releases her debut album, ‘Slay’, today, 30 October 2026. The 22-track collection brings together glamour, vulnerability and unapologetic self-expression, introducing an artist determined to turn adversity into empowerment while taking full control of her creative future.
Blending glossy pop production, rich R&B textures, jazz influences, hip-hop attitude and touches of classical arrangement, ‘Slay’ showcases the breadth of Raché’s musical identity. From seductive late-night confessionals to explosive dancefloor anthems, the album explores desire, heartbreak, ambition, betrayal, self-worth and reinvention, with nine previously unreleased tracks completing the collection.
Behind the project is a personal journey of resilience. Following the end of a professional relationship with a former manager whom she alleges stole from her, Raché set about rebuilding her career on her own terms. Alongside her partner, she established Precious Julez Media & Entertainment, an independent label and artist development company that allows her to take ownership of her music, creative direction and future.
Raised in Pennsylvania and living between Philadelphia and New York City, Raché draws on her Puerto Rican and German heritage and a lifelong passion for music. Having discovered her voice at just three years old, she later studied jazz vocal performance at The New School in New York City, developing the technical precision and emotional versatility that define her sound.
Her influences span the powerhouse vocals of Whitney Houston, the fearless attitude of Nicki Minaj and Doja Cat, and the soulful individuality of Amy Winehouse. Bringing these contrasting inspirations together, Raché balances theatrical pop ambition with intimate storytelling, moving between vulnerability, sensuality and commanding self-confidence.
The album arrives following a breakthrough year for the independent artist. Earlier in 2026, ‘XOXO’ reached No. 22 on the UK Official Singles Downloads Chart and No. 28 on the Official Singles Sales Chart, while ‘When The Lights Go Out’ peaked at No. 28 in downloads and No. 31 in sales. Across her catalogue, Raché has surpassed 1.1 million cumulative streams, building momentum while retaining creative independence.
Recent singles ‘Sarasota’ and ‘You Make Me Wanna Dance’ have further demonstrated her versatility, pairing sun-soaked pop with infectious, 1980s-inspired dance energy. That diversity runs throughout ‘Slay’, with confident, high-energy tracks such as ‘Rich Bitch Drip’, ‘I Work Hard To Look This Good’ and ‘Flow’ sitting alongside more introspective songs including ‘Coldest Place on Earth’, ‘Smoke Signals’ and ‘All I Had For You’.
Beyond the music, Raché is developing a distinctive creative identity shaped by fashion, cinematic visuals and character-driven storytelling. With an ambitious live schedule planned for 2027, including performances and festival appearances, she is preparing to bring the album to new audiences. Work on her next album is already underway, signalling that this debut is only the beginning.
Bold, seductive and unapologetically self-assured, ‘Slay’ is both a personal milestone and a declaration of intent. For an artist who has fought to reclaim control of her career, the album represents years of persistence, artistic evolution and the determination to define success on her own terms.
