Empire of the Sun have revealed the special guests joining their massive Ask That God: Afterlife Tour across Australia and New Zealand in February and March 2027, and they’ve assembled a formidable all-Australian indie line-up.
The Temper Trap will join Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore in Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, while The Jungle Giants take over main support duties in Adelaide and Perth. South African-born, London-based electronic duo Roi Turbo will open every show.
It’s a particularly timely return for The Temper Trap, who are riding high following the release of Sungazer, their first album in a decade. With Sweet Disposition recently passing one billion Spotify streams, the Melbourne band are enjoying a remarkable resurgence.
The Jungle Giants are also back with new material, having released their latest album, Experiencing Feelings of Joy, while Roi Turbo have just dropped Can’t Stop the Beat, a collaboration featuring Empire of the Sun’s own Luke Steele.
For Empire of the Sun, the tour marks the final chapter of their Ask That God era. Since launching the tour in 2024, the duo have sold more than 600,000 tickets worldwide, taking their elaborate costumes, electronic anthems and theatrical production to audiences across the globe.
Now they’re heading home with a reimagined show celebrating the music that has made them one of Australia’s most successful international acts.
With Walking on a Dream, We Are the People and Alive in their arsenal, plus a supporting cast packed with Australian favourites, this is shaping up to be one of the biggest local tours of early 2027.
