Post-punk legends The Sisters of Mercy are heading back to Australia this November, with five shows across the country and two local acts joining the tour.
Led by the unmistakable baritone of Andrew Eldritch, the British band will kick things off in Perth on 25 November before heading to Sydney, Hobart, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Melbourne’s Devil Electric will open the Sydney, Hobart and Melbourne shows, while Brisbane duo Elko Fields join the bill in their hometown.
Few bands have left a mark on gothic rock quite like The Sisters of Mercy. With just three studio albums, they’ve built a formidable legacy on tracks including Temple of Love, This Corrosion and Lucretia My Reflection, influencing everyone from Nine Inch Nails to My Chemical Romance.
Despite not releasing a studio album since 1990, the band remain a formidable live act, mixing familiar favourites, deeper cuts and newer material with their trademark smoke, lights and pounding drum machine, Doktor Avalanche.
Sydney’s Metro Theatre show is already sold out, with tickets running low in Perth and Melbourne and Hobart selling fast.
