Live Review + Photo Galleries: Seedy Jeezus at The Grand Poobah, Hobart 17.10.2025

Melbourne’s classic, psychedelic rockers, Seedy Jeezus made a triumphant Tasmanian debut at their 3 band show at Hobart’s Grand Poobah last Friday evening. The evening was presented by Psychedelic Salad Records.

Psychedelic space rock was at its’ finest with the Melbourne trio (regular collaborators with Isaiah Mitchell from US psych giants, Earthless and Tony Reed from US stoner rock mainstays, Mos Generator) treating the crowd to a sensational sonic serving of their brand of a brilliant fusion of classic 60’s psychedelia and 70’s rock, infused with the heady basslines of Paul Crick, the nuanced power of drummer, Mark Sibson and the stratospheric Stratocaster wizardry of guitarist/vocalist, Lex Waterreus.

The band showcased material from their latest album, Damned To The Depths, along with other songs from their extensive back-catalogue (see here).

Seedy Jeezus were admirably supported by up-and-coming Tasmanian three-piece, Spooky Eyes, who are garnering much attention with their spirited shows, and effervescent sludge rockers, Goat Rodeo.
