Steel Panther rolled into Dublin’s Vicar Street as they played a few Irish dates on their On The Prowl tour opening the night were Welsh glam metal band Tigertailz.

Tigertailz photos & set-list:

Sick Sex
Star Attraction
Livin’ Without You
Love Overload
I Can Fight Dirty Too
Call of the Wild
Love Bomb Baby

There’s was a packed venue tonight and all are waiting patiently for 9 o clock as it had been said that was to be stage time for the main and yes bang on 9pm Steel Panther burst on to the stage and straight into what turns out to be a high energy night. Opening up with the classic Eyes Of The Panther to everyone’s delight and one guy in the front row that was holding aloft a sign asking let me play drums on Eyes Of The Panther, but unfortunately for the young fan it wasn’t to be!
The pace was kept up with the second song after which the guys took a break and the comedy started with the jokingly band introductions and some more, then it was back to the songs where on the third Asian Hooker and crowd member was pick from the crowd to go up on stage to dance with the guys and of-course have simulations of sex with them as they ran through the song , wouldn’t be Steel Panther if we didn’t have the sex simulations throughout the nights set.
Unfortunately tonight the guys had dropped Runnin’ With the Devil (Van Halen) from the set, it had been played in Belfast 2 nights prier.
As I mentioned early it was a high energy show right through and the comedy just kept flowing from the guys, with hits like 1987 / Ain’t Dead Yet / Girl From Oklahoma, ooh and I better mention the fantastic guitar solo before Death To All But Metal keeping the sold-out crowd happy. There was even more crowd participation with a large number of crowd members being brought up on stage which is now the norm for a Steel Panther show.
It was a short encore consisting of only the one song.
Over all the night was a feast of glam metal and I for one don’t know who the guys get away with their stage antics and comedy in these days of over PC, but long may it last as its need in this far too easily offended climate that we find ourselves living in.

Eyes Of The Panther
Let Me Cum In
Asian Hooker
All I Wanna Do Is Fuck (Myself Tonight)
The Burden of Being Wonderful
Friends With Benefits
*Guitar Solo*
Death to All but Metal
1987
Ain’t Dead Yet
Girl From Oklahoma
Community Property
Party All Day (Fuck All Night)

Irish based concert photographer, maybe! ever so slightly addicted to gigs. Listens mostly to alternative / goth / folk punk / punk / ska. I blame the 80s.
