Portland four piece Aan released their debut album, ‘Amor Ad Nauseum’ on 4th February and from that they have released the stand out single ‘Daylight’.

Bud initially delivers a delicate vocal in the track until the songs builds, accompanied by soaring guitars with subtle but steady bass and drums. It’s fragile and romantic and just when you least expect it, it ends dramatically with with strum of guitar.

Aan started out as a bedroom project for singer and main songwriter Bud Wilson. However, to give his solo guitar and wonderful words more depth, he enlisted long time collaborator Reese Lawhon and drummer Jon Lewis. Shortly after that, producer Jeff Bond, and most recently Brainstorm’s Patrick Phillips on guitar, joined the team.

‘Amor Ad Nauseum’, translates to ‘love to the point of sickness’ and fits the music that band make perfectly, heartbreaking themes; desire, loneliness and desperation are all explored in nine songs that were recorded over two years in different studios and a cabin on the Oregon Coast. The National’s ‘High Violet’ and Kurt Vile’s ‘Smoke Ring for My Halo’ are cited as production influences.

They have just finished a month long tour in February and are returning to SXSW for the second time:
