Parisian dance/chill wave duo Saje have been attacting a lot of attentions in the last year, garnering millions of soundcloud play and gaining the support of many of the influencers within dance music, so there’s some excitement about the release of their debut EP, Freefallin’ Dreams, which drops on January 15th via French label Roche Musique.
Ahead of the release, the pair have released the title track, and if anything it cranks the excitement up another notch. Its slow moving, with tumbling percussion and these gluey, blurry synths fraying the edges of everything. As it begins to unfurl, so the drums pulsate and the guitars add a little RnB funk to the mix. Over the top, there’s plenty of singing in octaves, handclaps (oh, how we love handclaps) and snatches of soulful falsetto to fall in love with. We have.
