News: AlienBlaze joins Sumerian Records

British artist ALIENBLAZE has announced her signing to Sumerian Records with the release of new song ‘Not Yours Never Was‘. AlienBlaze is also the first UK-based signing to the label’s recently formed UK branch for the European operation, Sumerian Records Europe Limited.

“I’m so honoured to be signed by Sumerian Records,” says Blaze. “I am so grateful to Ash Avildsen, who is quite honestly a true innovator and visionary. I look forward to what the future holds with Sumerian, making music for a new generation.”

Sumerian Records founder Ash Avildsen comments: “AlienBlaze’s compelling songwriting and natural ability to fuse styles in an original way at such a young age is the true sign of a timeless star in the making. From the first moment I heard her, I knew we had to have her on Sumerian.”

AlienBlaze is a 20 year old singer/songwriter and lead guitarist, crafting genre-fluid anthems resulting in a fascinating hybrid of everything from dark alternative pop, grunge and emo, to rock and electronic elements. Her dominating presence emits an angsty appeal, encouraging a sense of self-empowerment for her young audience.

In her school years, AlienBlaze spent most of her time at home through sickness, so spent hours and hours learning the electric guitar on her mum’s Gibson U2, wanting to play like her guitar inspirations Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains and Slash. Blaze’s sense of alienation from her peers, is what inspired her to add the ‘alien’ part to her name as an artist.

She explains, “I consider my music to be slightly ‘genre-fluid’ because I take inspiration from many different sources. I like my lyrics to be poetic and different, and hopefully everyone can relate to the sentiment in the songs.”

With a name like AlienBlaze, the young musician takes listeners into an undiscovered cosmos, staying true to her ethos of, “I don’t want realism. I want magic!”

Having toured as support to Cassyette earlier this year and following up with a packed out appearance at The Great Escape, in June AlienBlaze was invited by Jack Saunders to perform at his Hopscotch show with Alissic.
