Swedish indie-folk artist Antonio Cordua has made a compelling return to the music scene with his latest single ‘Older’
Known for blending alt-pop melodies with heartfelt lyricism, Cordua’s new track dives deep into the evolving nature of relationships and self-awareness as one matures. Penned about the changing dynamics of relationships as we grow up, the single showcases Antonio’s mature and thoughtful songwriting.
Creating a sonic path for himself, guided through a vibrant, synth-led intro, it’s not before long that ‘Older’ starts to take shape. Guitar in hand, Cordua’s telling vocal provides a poetic detail into the highs and lows of growing up. Coupling indie-pop with a textured, alt-folk heart, the single offers a heartfelt, alluring commentary on youth and manhood.
“I wrote this record around my relationship with my grandmother and how, as you grow older, the view of your parents and, in my case, my grandmother changes. They are no longer the invincible person that you thought they were as a kid. You start to look at them as an individual with their flaws and problems, but with that comes a greater gratitude and love that you didn’t have before. You start to empathise and understand them in a way you couldn’t before as a kid.”
