In exciting news, two of Aotearoa/New Zealand’s most iconic bands, The Black Seeds and Kora, are set to embark on a co-headlining tour across Australia this April. This dynamic pairing promises an unforgettable experience, bringing together the unique sounds of these influential bands.

Formed in Wellington in 1998, The Black Seeds have consistently pushed the boundaries of musical genres, creating a distinct fusion of reggae, funk, dub, and soul elements. With a career spanning over two decades, the band has earned a reputation as one of New Zealand’s musical treasures. Albums like ‘Keep On Pushing’, ‘On the Sun’, and ‘Solid Ground’ have not only showcased their versatility but have also solidified their status as influential figures in the New Zealand music scene.

Hailing from Whakatane and formed in the early ’90s, Kora comprised four brothers – Laughton, Stuart, Brad, and Fran Kora – the band’s style is a captivating fusion of electronic, reggae, rock, dub, and roots genres. Tracks like ‘Politician’, ‘Drop Dead Killer’, and ‘On My Mind’ showcase the band’s ability to blend various influences into a cohesive and electrifying sound.

Kora has achieved multi-platinum sales status in New Zealand, a testament to their commercial success. The band’s dynamic performances have taken them to prestigious festivals and sold-out venues worldwide, with their most recent appearance on Australian shores headlining the inaugural Good Love Festival on the Gold Coast in 2022.

Both The Black Seeds and Kora have left an indelible mark Downunder, garnering a dedicated fan base both at home and abroad. The upcoming co-headlining tour in Australia is a rare opportunity for fans to witness the magic that happens when these two influential acts share the stage.
