News: Hawk in The Nest Release Self-Titled Full-Length Album

Hawk in The Nest has officially released their self-titled debut album, an eight-track collection that marks the full-band evolution of award-winning songwriter Avi Jacob. With the album now out, the project enters 2026 showcasing a rich blend of indie-folk ballads, blues, and indie pop, rooted in cinematic songwriting and authentic, soul-soaked melodies.

“Love and connection are what make life worth living” — Hawk in The Nest

The record captures Jacob’s knack for crafting emotionally gripping songs about hope, youth, and love. Across its eight tracks, the album balances nostalgic warmth with contemporary energy, offering a sound that feels both intimate and expansive. Reflecting on the inspiration behind the release, the band states:
“Love and connection are what make life worth living, and this album in its entirety is a lived experience of that. It’s about putting your heart out there even when you are afraid, and getting absolutely destroyed when someone doesn’t ultimately choose you.”

Hawk in The Nest is the full-band project of Avi Jacob, blending folk, indie-pop, Americana, and R&B, and featuring a full orchestral indie-pop arrangement including a horn section. Produced alongside drummer Wolfgang Zimmerman and bassist Joel Hamilton, the project draws inspiration from artists like Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon, Otis Redding, Bob Dylan, and the Four Tops, combining timeless influences with a fresh, urgent perspective.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Avi Jacob began performing original folk music at age 14, supported by his father, Holocaust historian Robert Michael. He honed his craft in Boston’s DIY music scene before moving to Charleston, South Carolina, to pursue a professional music career. Over the years, Jacob has shared stages with acts including the Marcus King Band, Dr. John, the Lone Bellow, Mipso, and Susto, and has performed over 200 shows annually, earning recognition through live performances, music blogs, and compilation releases.

Jacob returned to New England, settling in Providence, Rhode Island, and released the 2018 EP Surrender, produced by Simone Felice, and 2020’s Preservation on Bandcamp. In 2022, he won a New England Music Award and performed at multiple Americana festivals across Europe.

Avi Jacob continues to use his music as a force for connection, guided by his son, Elias. Live performance remains central to Hawk in The Nest, with the debut album serving as both an invitation and a testament to music’s power to create meaningful, shared experiences.
