Irish producer, rapper and multi-instrumentalist Cian Finn releases anticipated new album What’s Next.

The twelve-track release is tied together by the central raw old-school hip-hop tone whilst tracks jump from grooves of dub, dancehall, and electronica. Infusing each track with a wave of emotion and pointed social commentary, What’s Next is a musical exploration that dives deep into personal reflection, societal issues, and the celebratory communal power of music through his effortlessly captivating flow which at points switches to an effortlessly captivating sung melodies.

From introspective musings to larger commentaries on the world around us, the album finds Finn at his most innovative and authentic, delivering what may be his finest work yet. Noteworthy contributions from spoken word artist Lewis Kenny and international reggae veteran Ras Tinny elevate the album’s eclectic sound, solidifying it as a must-listen for fans of boundary-pushing music.

“It’s a retrospective record for me, mostly with tracks like Grá Mór and All I Wanna Do, which look back on my formative and influential years in Galway,” says Finn. “There’s a lot covered theme-wise, and that’s reflected sonically too. The album crosses sounds of hip-hop, dub, electronica, reggae, traditional Irish music, and spoken word. It’s also a project stamped in time by current events, which is very important to me—a snapshot of the present, for the future.”

Based on Ireland’s west coast, Cian Finn operates his own record label, Emerald Isle Records, where he continues to craft his unique sound and vision. As he prepares to drop What’s Next, Finn showcases a keen ear for production, bending genres and making authentic, danceable-yet-reflective music.
