Jamie Yost, the talented singer-songwriter from the South West of the UK, has released his new EP, This Is Home, continuing to demonstrate his unique musical identity. Known for his soulful blend of folk roots, alt-pop melodies, and deeply poetic lyricism, Yost’s latest work showcases his adept songwriting abilities, drawing comparisons to artists such as Bon Iver, Ben Howard, and The 1975.

Raised in the picturesque landscapes of Devon, Jamie Yost’s music often feels wise beyond his years. His breakout 2018 single ‘Runaway’ amassed over 300,000 streams online, marking him as a promising artist to watch. Since then, Yost has been refining his craft, drawing listeners into his world with his emotive and versatile songwriting.

Yost’s new EP, This Is Home, serves as a testament to his growth as an artist, offering an intricate blend of heartfelt lyricism and indie rock and pop tendencies. The EP reflects his ability to weave together rich, emotive narratives with a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly new. Each track is a journey through Yost’s introspective and heartfelt world, resonating with listeners through its authentic and poignant storytelling.

Showcasing some of the artists best work to day, bringing together his soulful, emotive songwriting, infectiously catchy melodies and some rich, beautifully constructed musicianship.

Speaking about the EP, Jamie shares: “This Is Home encapsulates connection. With yourself, friends, family and the elements around you. A reminder to love, to embrace moments, to question things and to always be kind. Knowing that we are not perfect in design, we are flawed but we continuously strive to be better, to grow.

Sonically the record falls somewhere between Indie Folk/Rock meets Modern Alt Pop. I got heavily into production whilst making this record and Big Red Machines self titled Album was super influential. That then spiralled into listening to a lot of The Japanese House, The War On Drugs and anything Arron Dessner or Justin Vernon had a hand in.”

Jamie Yost has graced some of the UK’s most prestigious stages, including a headline performance at Cambridge Folk Festival’s ‘The Den’ stage and a set on the ‘The View’ stage at Boardmasters. Having supported notable acts like Nathan Ball, Skinny Living, and Wildwood Kin, he has further cemented his place as one to watch having partnered with the esteemed YouTube channel ‘Mahogany’ for an exclusive performance of his track ‘Storm’, gained over 500,000 streams across all platforms and been placed across editorial playlists on both Spotify and Apple Music.

This Is Home encapsulates Yost’s evolution as an artist and showcases the brilliant musicality he is capable of.
