News: Jesse Welles announces first Australian tour with Down Under The Powerlines

Jesse Welles

Jesse Welles, the Arkansas songwriter better known simply as Welles, will tour Australia for the first time this summer with his Down Under The Powerlines shows.

Carving his path from the Ozarks, Welles has built a reputation as a modern troubadour, drawing comparisons to Dylan, Guthrie and Prine. His songs cut into politics, society, and the mess of human relationships with sharp, unvarnished honesty.

Having earned praise from Rolling Stone and The New York Times, and supported acts including Greta Van Fleet, Highly Suspect and Royal Blood, Welles arrives with a catalogue that has already gathered millions of streams and a loyal following across North America and Europe.

Whether under the open skies of his hometown or on international stages, his performances carry the same mark: raw, unfiltered, and steeped in storytelling. Australian audiences can now expect an evening of songs and stories that balance humour and hope with grit and reflection.
