R&B riser Lewis Edwards unveils his emotive, delicate new single, ‘If I Couldn’t’.

Drawing inspiration from the legends of R&B while infusing his own contemporary flair, Edwards offers a listening experience that is both familiar and refreshingly innovative. His new track, ‘If I Couldn’t’, exemplifies this blend perfectly, merging indie R&B and pop elements to create a captivating soundscape.

The track, produced in collaboration with his longtime partner Moneo, the single brings together a silky soundscape of soft piano, gentle guitar, and subtle percussion reminiscent of a faint heartbeat provide a poignant backdrop for Edwards’ heartfelt lyrics and impassioned vocals.

“I wanted the emotion in my voice, my tone, and the lyrics to shine through,” explains Edwards. “This song took two years of re-writing and recording to finish.”

‘If I Couldn’t’ is a heartfelt message from Edwards to his loved ones, expressing the challenges of balancing personal commitments with the pursuit of his music career. Reflecting on the inspiration behind the song, he shares, “I was going through a testing time being a new father and not feeling like I could be there for friends and family like I used to be. The song is about reminding those who I can’t always be in contact with or see as much as I used to, that I care just as much as I always have and that ‘If I Couldn’t’ be that for you, I hope you find it somehow, whether through another person, yourself, or other avenues.”

He continues, “The second verse delves into my own struggles and not being able to be there mentally for others as I have too much on my plate to take on other people’s issues. It’s not that I don’t care; I just can’t be what you need right now.”

With ‘If I Couldn’t’, Lewis Edwards bares his soul, offering listeners a raw and honest glimpse into his life. This track is not only a testament to his musical talent but also to his ability to connect with audiences on a deeply personal level.

Keep an eye on Lewis Edwards as he continues to captivate audiences with his soul-stirring performances and undeniable talent.
