Tammie, known affectionately as The Butterfly Grl, has burst onto the music scene with her infectious debut single ‘Help Me Help Myself’, marking the dawn of a promising career in the realm of neo-soul and R&B. Hailing from the serene landscapes of West Sussex and the vibrant streets of Brighton, Tammie’s journey has been a tapestry of experiences, culminating in a musical narrative poised to captivate audiences worldwide.

At the heart of Tammie’s artistry lies a profound conceptualism, symbolized by the butterfly—a motif representing transformation and evolution. Drawing from a rich tapestry of influences spanning Soul, RnB, Jazz, and Hip-Hop, Tammie’s distinctive vocal tone resonates with authenticity and emotional depth, distinguishing her as a formidable talent in the contemporary music landscape.

With ‘Help Me Help Myself’, Tammie invites listeners into a realm of introspection and vulnerability, exploring themes of isolation, self-reflection, and the tumultuous journey towards self-acceptance. Produced by the acclaimed Andrew Gowie, whose credits include collaborations with industry titans such as Drake and Majid Jordan, the track unfolds with ethereal guitar melodies cascading beneath Tammie’s velvety vocals, gradually building into a symphony of synths and pulsating basslines.

In a candid reflection on the genesis of the song, Tammie shares, “HMHM was really born from a desire to be more honest with myself through my music, and was written about the struggle to pull myself out from dark and isolating times. Although it’s scary being so open and vulnerable with the world, I think it’s important as an artist to be that relatable voice for the unfiltered human experience.”

Despite being a newcomer to some, Tammie’s journey in music began at a tender age, composing and performing original pieces since the age of nine. Her innate talent and dedication earned her recognition early on, with notable appearances in school showcases and talent competitions. A pivotal moment came in 2014 when the Argus Newspaper spotlighted her electrifying performance at Brighton’s Concord II venue, setting the stage for a decade-long odyssey culminating in her triumphant return to the spotlight in 2024.

‘Help Me Help Myself’ serves as a tantalizing preview of Tammie’s forthcoming debut EP, slated for release in the summer of 2024. With her soul-stirring melodies and poignant lyricism, Tammie stands poised to leave an indelible mark on the music landscape, heralding the arrival of a bold new voice in contemporary soul and R&B.
