London trio bar italia are returning to Australia this summer, announcing three headline shows to coincide with their slot at Meredith Music Festival in December.
Following their 2024 Australian tour, the band – Nina Cristante, Jezmi Tarik Fehmi and Sam Fenton – will once again bring their jagged, widescreen take on indie rock to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, this time armed with their new album Some Like It Hot, due 17 October via Matador.
Their latest single Fundraiser – a wiry, hook-laced rush with a video starring Matt King – signals the record’s bold direction, following on from the critically praised Cowbella and Marble Arch. With over 160 shows worldwide in the past two years, bar italia have evolved from elusive underground beginnings into a band equally at home in sweaty clubs or festival main stages.
Australian fans can expect a set that reflects that growth: moments of intimacy colliding with songs designed to push choruses skyward. Pre-sale for the tour kicks off Friday 22 August at 9am AEST via mistletone.net.
