News: MKTO Are Back: Melbourne and Sydney Dates Locked for October

The Californian pop-rap duo that soundtracked a thousand high school crushes are set to return to Australia this October, with headline shows at Melbourne’s 170 Russell (October 30) and Sydney’s Metro Theatre (October 31). This marks the first proper MKTO tour down under in years — and yes, they know you still remember every word to Classic.

Comprised of Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller, MKTO broke big in 2012 with the snarky, radio-busting Thank You — a Gen Z kiss-off to the establishment that landed them instantly in the hearts (and phones) of young fans. Their self-titled debut album dropped soon after, a polished mix of pop, R&B and bratty rebellion that birthed ARIA Top 40 hits Classic, God Only Knows, and American Dream.

Classic became a phenomenon — hitting the Billboard Top 10 and earning platinum in Australia, the US and beyond. MKTO weren’t just radio darlings; they were Tumblr heartthrobs, mall tour heroes, and certified pop culture fixtures.

Now, more than a decade on, they’re ready to reclaim their crown. The charm’s intact and the hits still hit.
