East Anglian duo Amethysts share the punching and dreamy new single “Bloodline”. Released via Tabby Tracks Records/ Conch Town Records, this track serves as a tantalising glimpse into their upcoming EP, “New Moon.”

Amethysts, who have previously collaborated with acclaimed producer Shuta Shinoda and graced labels like RAMP Recordings and Manimal Vinyl, are no strangers to pushing musical boundaries. Describing their sound as “nu-gaze,” the duo has consistently defied genre conventions to create a sound uniquely their own.

Produced by the talented Alex Gordon, known for his work with artists like The Cure and Bat For Lashes, and mastered by Tom Stanford, “Bloodline” is a sonic journey that seamlessly blends elements of electronic, indie, and dreampop. The track weaves together haunting guitar lines, pulsating drums, and deep sub-bass to create a mesmerizing soundscape.

One of the hallmarks of Amethysts’ music is the delicate and emotive vocal harmonies of the duo, Clarice and Simon. Their voices gracefully float above the intricate instrumentation, delivering poignant lyrics and infectious melodies that leave a lasting impression.

When asked about the inspiration behind “Bloodline,” Clarice commented: “Living in the transition from who you used to be, to who you are now after a significant life change. Bloodline is about the journey where you slowly start to find yourself again and realize the old you is now an enhanced and strengthened version of the person you used to be. And despite the challenges and conflicts with yourself along the way, you’d happily do it all again.”

Emerging from their studio cocoon, marking the beginning of the next exciting phase of their musical journey. With “Bloodline” as the herald of their musical evolution, fans and music enthusiasts alike can eagerly anticipate what this dynamic duo has in store for the future.

As Amethysts continue to push the boundaries of their genre-defying music, one thing is clear – their unique soundscapes and emotive melodies will continue to captivate and inspire listeners around the world.
