Solarrio returns with the new single ‘NLF’, featuring the dynamic and culturally innovative Holland Izz. A fusion of Popfunk, Dancepop, and Funk, the track offers a modern take on the sounds of the eighties funk while delivering a contemporary edge.

Growing up in a household filled with classical musicians, Solarrio embarked on a unique musical journey. He explored rock bands during his school years and eventually found his passion in music production, inspired by hip-hop and freestyle sessions with local rap crews. For over a decade, he made a name for himself as one of Germany’s top hip-hop producers. However, Solarrio decided to shift his focus to his own music, resulting in a captivating blend of synthpop and R&B/Funk.

Solarrio’s debut album, All The Wrong Places, is slated for release in spring 2024 on Playel Records, and ‘NLF’ offers a tantalizing preview of what’s to come. The track was created in collaboration with Alhassan Sakho, Solarrio’s frequent creative partner.

Solarrio shares his excitement about the collaboration, “I knew I wanted to get Holland Izz on this song, I was looking for the right track to feature him on. This felt like a perfect fit since we’re both huge Rick James/Prince fans, and this song definitely feels like an homage to them. I decided to use a vocal sample from another Holland Izz song that I co-produced called ‘Do it on the concrete.’ The part where he says ‘She a nasty lil freak.’ Once I added that, it all started coming together, and Holland sent me his verse back. Definitely not the last song we will be doing together.”

Holland Izz, hailing from Compton, California, is a recording artist and record producer who is reshaping the sound of contemporary hip-hop. His distinctive style, marked by energy-fueled delivery and clever bars, has earned him recognition from top hip-hop blogs, including XXL, Lyrical Lemonade, and No Jumper. Holland Izz’s collaboration with Solarrio on ‘NLF’ not only showcases their shared love for the classics but also sets the stage for more exciting music to come.

Solarrio expresses his passion for the track, stating, “I’m a huge eighties R&B/Funk fan—Prince, Rick James, anything produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. I really wanted to bring that kind of vibe back with my debut album. This particular song is definitely an homage. Upbeat, groovy, fun, and funky. It’s one of my favorites from my album!”

To celebrate the release of ‘NLF’, Solarrio and Holland Izz are hosting a Release Party and Showcase on October 11th at Badehaus in Berlin. The event promises a night filled with electrifying performances and infectious grooves, making it a must-attend for music enthusiasts. With ‘NLF’, Solarrio and Holland Izz are not only paying homage to the classics but also carving their own path in the contemporary music scene, bringing a fresh and funky energy that is sure to get audiences grooving. Keep an eye out for their upcoming album, All The Wrong Places, and the exciting musical journey that lies ahead for these two talented artists.
