Amsterdam duo Spirit Valley have signed to one of our favourite labels, Fuzz Club Records, and announced an album ‘Negatives’ will be out in August. From it comes lead track ‘TNNLVSSN’ and this tribal sounding drumming quickly subsides (but never stops) leaveing blurry, fuzzed up, f*cked up psych sounds. Draped in echo, and accomapanied by these swirling guitars the vocal line sweeps over the top of everything, as sounds melt into each other and chords stay static as a way of building tension.
It’s sweeping and eventually things give way to something more circumspect, the drumming becomes tambourines and shimmer and cascades of bell like sounds signals the song tapering out in its own echo. Lovely stuff.
