Tasmanian electronic duo Sumner are stepping into the spotlight with the release of their highly anticipated Retrograde EP, a shimmering collection of love-fuelled dance-pop anthems, led by the striking focus track ‘Follow’.

Blending intricate production with raw emotional depth, Retrograde showcases Sumner’s ability to craft expansive, genre-fluid soundscapes, drawing comparisons to the likes of Frank Ocean, Lorde, and SAFIA. Written across Melbourne, Sydney, and their home in lutruwita / Tasmania, the EP is a reflection on love in all its forms—passionate, unspoken, and transformative. It’s the sound of a band stripping things back to their essence while pushing their creative boundaries forward.

Anchored by their breakthrough single ‘Starlight’—a track that’s dominated airwaves on triple j and The Hit Network—Sumner’s rise has been nothing short of meteoric. Their catalogue includes collaborations with heavyweights like Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes (PNAU, Empire of the Sun), a national tour with Empire of the Sun, and festival slots at Falls, Party in the Paddock, and Great Escape.

Sumner kicked off their tour in Sydney and will be bringing their anthemic sound and ethereal production to audiences in Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart, and Launceston next.
