Gloomy pop makers The Dears have announced a new album ‘Lovers Rock’ to hit the shelves 15th May via Dangerbird Records. They will be supporting this record with a tour this coming April.

Lead single “The Worst In Us” gives us a teaser of things to come. Which is sounding pretty damn good. The track is unmistakably a Dears track and a perfect introduction to new fans and will delight older fans. They aren’t trying to experiment of change the formula here, its the pop/rock that they do best.

Murray Lightburn and Natalia Yanchak have a knack of crafting catchy melodies and solid songs and have never failed for the last two decades. The music sounds tight and well produced with intelligent lyrics. There is an interesting piano led breakdown in the middle and some wonderful picked guitar lines throughout.

Check it out, here.

Catch them as follows:

THU 16 APR – Bristol, UK @ Exchange

FRI 17 APR – Manchester, UK @ Deaf Institute

SAT 18 APR – Glasgow, UK @ Drygate Brewing Co.

SUN 19 APR – Leeds, UK @ Brudenell Social Club

TUE 21 APR – London, UK @ The Garage
