News: The Lathums Set to Bring Northern Soul to Southern Skies on 2025 Australian Tour

British indie romantics The Lathums are heading to Australia for the first time in October 2025, bringing their Wigan of Oz tour to four cities across the country. From the working-class heartlands of Greater Manchester to the sunburnt stages of Fremantle, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, the quartet will be delivering their melancholic charm and jangly euphoria with the same heartfelt conviction that’s won them two UK Number One albums.

Kicking off at Freo.Social on Wednesday 8 October, the run continues at The Triffid in Brisbane (Friday 10 October), Factory Theatre in Sydney (Saturday 11 October) and wraps at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Sunday 12 October.

The Lathums emerged from Wigan’s overlooked corners with no grand design — just four lads and some unshakeable sincerity. Their early work resonated like letters from the edge, echoing the poetic bruises of The Smiths and the urgency of Arctic Monkeys, without ever feeling derivative. Frontman Alex Moore sings with a sense of yearning that’s both intimate and immense.

2021’s How Beautiful Life Can Be and 2023’s From Nothing To A Little Bit More both soared to the top of the UK charts, while this year’s Matter Does Not Define landed a strong No.3. Written back home in Wigan and recorded in Liverpool with mentor John Kettle and producer Chris Taylor, the record blends introspection with uplifting choruses — a balancing act The Lathums have quietly mastered.

The Lathums 2025 Tour Dates
Wed 8 Oct – Freo.Social (Fremantle)
Fri 10 Oct – The Triffid (Brisbane)
Sat 11 Oct – Factory Theatre (Sydney)
Sun 12 Oct – The Corner Hotel (Melbourne)
