News: Transvision Vamp to tour Australia in 2026

Transvision Vamp

British pop rock band Transvision Vamp will return to Australian stages in February 2026 for the first time in nearly thirty years. The tour will see the group play shows across Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

”I am so excited to be coming back to Australia to play the songs which started my whole musical journey! I remember vividly so many moments across Australia, moments of enormous success, enormous love and enormous fun. I’m bringing with me a set full of music that will thrill and musicians who will amaze!” – Wendy James

Formed in 1986, Transvision Vamp rose to prominence in the late ’80s with a sound that merged punk energy with mainstream pop hooks. Their debut album Pop Art reached No. 4 on the UK charts and was certified platinum in Australia, while 1989’s Velveteen featured the hit single “Baby I Don’t Care,” which peaked at No. 3 in both the UK and Australia.

The band will perform a setlist drawn from their most well-known material, including “I Want Your Love,” “The Only One,” and “Baby I Don’t Care.”

Vocalist Wendy James leads the current lineup, joined by Dave Parsons (bass), Alex Ward (guitar, The Thurston Moore Group), and James Sclavunos (drums, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds). James has also released seven solo albums, including collaborations with Elvis Costello.
