San Diego-based singer-songwriter Trevy James has just released the new single ‘(Let Me Tell You ‘Bout) What I See’, a vibrant track that intertwines R&B, reggae, and soul with lyrical introspection and genre-blending finesse.

Trevy James, who has long been celebrated for his seamless fusion of roots reggae, lovers rock, and vintage R&B, delivers a track that brims with emotional weight and sonic richness. With bluesy guitar licks layered over a rhythmically energetic backbone, the single exudes both nostalgia and freshness. The musical arrangement highlights James’s ability to pull from a deep well of musical influences while delivering a sound that is uniquely his own.

“My relationship with my soon-to-be wife is a big source of inspiration for me as a songwriter,” James says, reflecting on the personal significance behind the single. “From the very beginning of our relationship, I was flooded with so many vivid visions of what the future had in store for us: personal growth, our future homes, children, everything! This song is my expression of those powerful feelings and visions that perfectly completed a musical composition written by Tim Pacheco & myself that lived in our catalogue as a promising instrumental for over 3 years prior.”

That emotional core is palpable throughout ‘(Let Me Tell You ‘Bout) What I See’, which pairs James’s silky vocal delivery with shimmering melodies and full-bodied instrumental motifs. The track’s lyrical honesty and sonic sophistication reinforce his reputation as a storyteller as much as a performer, delivering both heart and groove in equal measure.

James’s journey in music has taken him from the stages of local San Diego venues to leading roles in bands like Psydecar and Heaping Teaspoon. As a solo artist, he has developed a signature sound rooted in love and positivity, wrapped in the warmth of reggae rhythms and soulful arrangements.
