News: Vermantics Paint Shine On New EP ‘The Pictures You Paint’

After storming through a sold-out UK tour, Melbourne-based alt-rockers Vermantics return with The Pictures You Paint. A four-track EP that captures the kaleidoscope of human connection in all its messy, magnificent color through a high-octane, guitar led gaze, The Pictures You Paint showcases the band’s most complete work to date.

From the first pulsing moments of opener ‘Come Alive’, the band set a dark, urgent, and thrilling tone. Queens Of The Stonge-esque riffs are met with the angst-ridden, soaring and affirmingly melodic lead vocals. ‘How Does It Feel’ captures an essence of emo-rock while ‘Open Up Your Dreams’ highlights the classic rock elements within the band’s sound.

The Pictures You Paint captures the essence of Vermantics high energy live sets, capturing a studio tightness whilst retaining a “real” feel. Co-produced by the band and veteran producer Phil Threlfall, whose mixing gives the record its grit and gloss, and mastered by Andrei Eremin (known for work with Tash Sultana and Hiatus Kaiyote), The Pictures You Paint is a brilliant example of the band’s potential.
