News: Wunderhorse Bring Midas Touch to Australian Stages This September

Wunderhorse have announced their first headline tour of Australia and New Zealand, bringing the golden glow of Midas to stages down under this September.

Fresh off a stratospheric rise — think UK Top 10 charting sophomore LP (Midas), sold-out headliners, and a recent support slot on Sam Fender’s arena tour — Wunderhorse are proving they’re not just another flash-in-the-pan indie outfit. This is a band with serious bite.

The tour kicks off in Aotearoa with intimate shows at Auckland’s Double Whammy and Wellington’s Meow, before the lads hop the ditch for dates in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and a finale at Perth’s Freo.Social — all venues destined to be packed with sweat, reverb and a sea of bobbing fringe cuts.

Formed in 2020 by ex-Dead Pretties frontman Jacob Slater, Wunderhorse blossomed from solo introspection into a fully-fledged unit in 2021. Rounded out by guitarist Harry Tristan Fowler, bassist Peter Woodin and drummer Jamie Staples, they’ve since carved a niche that fuses Britpop melancholy with post-grunge muscle — a sound perfected at the iconic Pachyderm Studios (yep, the one where In Utero was born).

Thursday September 18 – Wellington – Meow
