ACCLAIMED and award-winning French composer Yann Tiersen has shared two new remixes, by Nine Inch Nails’ Alessandro Cortini and Swedish producer The Field – take a listen to the pristine electronic beauty of the latter, below.

In a busy flurry of announcements, he has also revealed details of his updated European live dates for next year; and he’s also releasing his Lagniappe Session, originally recorded for Aquarium Drunkard, in a special Record Store Day edition today, October 24th.

The Lagniappe Session 12” features recordings of a Steve Reich piece, a classic Françoise Hardy song and a track by country gospel artist EC Ball, recorded in his new analogue studio on a remote Breton island.

The two remixes are available digitally now as Portrait Remixed on all digital service providers. While Alessandro Cortini takes on “Prad”, and gives it grandiose winter ice, Stockholm’s Axel Willner, aka The Field gives “Diouz an Noz” a pristine, Selected Ambient Works-style futuristic warmth. The originals of both are taken from Tiersen’s latest album, Portrait, a résumé of 25 new recordings of pieces spanning his career, out now on Mute.
