Bloomington, Indiana’s Damion Schiralli has been building up toward the release of his debut solo album for a little bit since it was announced back in May It’s an impressive collection of detailed soft rock gems whose general aesthetic is defined further by Schiralli’s chosen recording method: it went straight to cassette, because of course it did.

Ahead of the record seeing the light of day tomorrow, we’re premiering another single for you: the atmospheric slow-burner ‘Your Secret is Safe With Me’. Of the song’s inspiration, Schiralli says, “The song is about secrets, but only because that’s what felt right in the context of the music. I always write the music first, so the mood is typically established there. I knew the last line of that chorus needed to be the hook, and one day a co-worker confided something in me, and I sort of jokingly said ‘your secret is safe with me,’ because to me that phrase can’t be said in a very serious way. But those words just sort of stuck with me, so I decided to write the song around that hook.”

Give it a listen below; Special Interest lands tomorrow via Earth Libraries, with vinyl following on August 19th.
