Los Angeles indie synth-pop artist is releasing his new single – his first of 2022, with They Wanted You, out today (February 7th) and were delighted to be able to premiere it right here on Backseat Mafia today.
Of the track, Eunith says “By leaving this song for months at a time, then returning, it felt like 3 different people ended up writing it in the end. I really liked that feeling, and parts of it almost became a mystery to my own self. I don’t know how I came up with that synth line near the middle, but it’s my favorite I’ve ever written”, before continuing, “I’m still learning to stop being so hard on myself. When I realized I’d never write a beat as hard as Geto Boys’ 1997 landmark hit, “Still,” I settled for writing the smoothest synth line of my life instead.”
its a beautifully smooth take on synth pop, the sleek lines and melancholy melodies making it seem almost timeless, Eunith’s delicate vocal line creeping over the top of it. Take a minute and luxuriate into it.
