Taken from his forthcoming EP, Jacob Whitesides, Spotify artist to watch Jacob Whitesides has released God Took a Bow and we’re delighted to premiere it right here on Backseat Mafia.
Of the track Jacob exclusively told us “God Took A Bow” was inspired by a very nostalgic night of just driving around with someone I really loved. One of my favorite things to do is nothing, and that’s what we did. I think when you do things as simple as driving around in the middle of the night listening to music with nowhere to go, it creates a distraction free environment to just be with someone, and appreciate them in new ways. I’m no really religious, but I’d like to think whatever created this person spent a little extra time, and they were very proud of the outcome.”
It’s a shimmering, woozy brand of perfect electronic pop, Whitesides soft vocal like a comfort blanket over this hazy accompaniment and little guitar and synth motifs swoon in tandem.
