We’re delighted here on Backseat Mafia for Les Nuby’s single ‘Never Falling Away’, taken from his debut solo album ‘Clouded’, out July 10th via Cornelius Chapel Records.
If you’re not familiar with Nuby’s CV, it’s extensive. Starting out as a drummer in the 90s indie rock power house Verbana, he’s a one time touring member of Scottish Rock legends Idlewild as well as guitarist for Vulture Whale, Indigo Girls Amy Ray (on tour at least) and for Holiday Gunfire, where he is also vocalist. He’s also produced for artists such as Will Stewart, Sarah Lee Langford, The Dirty Clergy, and *Witch’s Wal*l, amongst others. And now he’s about to trick another box with his debut solo album.
Of the track, Nuby says “This is a song about not being fooled again. And not giving up hope. Walking through fire.” It’s an (indie) rock workout, with chiming guitar lines and driving back line setting up these harmony soaked melodies, delivered by Nuby’s persuasive vocals that park themselves in your mind and have you reaching for repeat.
