We are very pleased to premiere the visceral and luscious video for the track ‘Nightshade’ by Canterbury band lotusbliss.
‘Nightshade’, replete with shards of angular, jangling guitars, is an indie guitar classic, augmented by velvet vocals tinged with yearning and a sense of foreboding. There is an inherent pop sensibility with indelible melodies and a studied sense of cool.
According to the band:
It’s about being involved with someone/thing that is unhealthy, but the unhealthy nature is too subtle to be immediately noticed.
The video is imbued with a bacchanalian sense of excess and desire: visceral and distorted visuals that are surreal and psychedelic, interspersed with performance shots that are rich, detailed and dynamic. The video perfectly captures something that is sensuous and forbidden, moody and atmospheric:
