Modern Stars, aka Andrea Merolle, Barbara Margani and Andrea Sperduti are gearing up to release their debut album ‘Silver Needles’ in September via MiaCameretta Records and ahead of it they’ve released a new video for the track ‘Space and Time’, which we’re delighted to premiere right here on Backseat Mafia today.
Of the track the band say “In an empty space a boy gets lost in the memories of his only love. She has gone on a journey from which she will not return and the two will only be able to meet in his memories.”
After a winding, eastern influenced opening, with a myriad of instruments making this hypnotic racket (in the nicest possible way), the dark brooding vocals intervene but only briefly, instead allowing the music to wend its visceral, psychedelic way through.
The beautifully shot video also takes you on a journey, part telling the story, part creating its own unique imagery for you to take on board. Check it out, here
