We are pleased to premiere the thundering new single ‘falling faster slowly’ from Sydney-based band RADICALS: a four minute earth-shattering aural blitzkrieg. A pounding rhythm section provides an anchor for the excoriating buzzing guitars and the sonorous, melodic vocals, cutting like a knife through butter. It is highly cathartic rock’n’roll.

Lead vocalist Brandon Wade says of the origins of the track:

The song is based around the feeling/experience of taking drugs. We wrote the song while on drugs and thought it would be the perfect time to write and encapsulate what and how we were feeling. It was a wild experience and we’re stoked the song turned out the way it did.

It certainly seems to encapsulate that chemically induced heady rush. Or so I’m told. The lyrics give expression to the feeling:

good god amen, i’m falling faster slowly.
best get out of the way, i’m in a hurry.
better watch your step. don’t test me.
is it all in my head. it might be.

The accompanying video is appropriately spiked and acid-laced psychedelia, fuzzy and chaotic like the song:
