Out today is the new track from L.A. garage-punk duo Tarah Who?, aka Tarah Carpenter (vocals / guitar) and Corale Hervé (drums/backing vocals). We’re delighted to be able to premiere the accompanying video right here on Backseat Mafia today.

Of the song, Carpenter says “We have all been told at least once in our lives that we have to “face the music” or that we don’t have a choice. However, every decision that we make is a choice. You may not like the outcome but whatever experience you go through in your life, it is your decision to make to keep doing it or to quit.”

It’s this dark slice of (post-)punk rock, eminently melodic and totally likeable despite its ferocity and prickly nature. Driven by these slashy chords and driving drums, the girls make good on their vocals, spiced with attitude, over the unholy racket they make. We love it.

Of the video (shot by Erica Torres in Van Nuys, CA), the pair told us exclusively, “We wanted to start the year with a light, fun song and music video. We had to come up with something quick, easy and safe because of the pandemic and regulations. Even though the song is about breaking habits, being frustrated, hitting a bunch of things that day was a lot of fun and harder that one might think!”
