Backseat Mafia are thrilled to be officially delivering to you the official video premiere of Doubt Me, the clip which accompanies the latest track from London jazz/pop outfit Tenacity. The group just last week kicked off their exciting debut album journey with the exhilarating, catchy alt-pop anthem, which first premiered on BBC Introducing and is now out everywhere for the world to enjoy.

Doubt Me is a track that is wonderfully complex in its well-considered arrangements, blending seamlessly the grooviest of basslines with catchy pop melodies. In addition, intriguing harmonies and powerful guitars puts it at the edge of multiple styles, showcasing the band’s skill in breaking musical boundaries.

Blurring the lines between genres, Tenacity (aka Ula Wodarz, Daniel Lazenby, Simba Jindu and Tim Burghaus) have perfected their eclectic sound, blending an alternative pop and rock framework with jazz harmony, electronic production, world fusion beats and ambient soundscapes.

The video for Doubt Me is a mesmerising, overcast, suburban-come-cinematic delight, supremely shot by James George Potter and featuring some enthralling dance moves from the hugely talented Sonny Cwynarski. Twisting his way alongside parked cars on a hilly residential street and later, through an autumnal park which beautifully cuts to dusk, the all-round visual vibe is at one with the shifting musical elements of the song.

The four musicians have worked relentlessly to create original material since they formed, releasing 2018’s Sounds and Vibes EP and the more recent There/Gone (2019), which features the acclaimed single Nothing Else. Over the past three years Tenacity have performed entrancing shows all over London, taking their unique vision from tiny pubs to renowned venues including The Ned, Paper Dress Vintage and The Empire Bar.

In spite of the pandemic, Tenacity have continued to work tirelessly towards making finishing touches to their very first LP, a collection of songs refined through hours of studio work and organic development through their gigs. The future now holds nothing but the most exciting things for the foursome. As their name suggests, they will resolutely continue through the next chapter of bringing their special blend of sounds to a rapidly growing legion of listeners.
