Premiere: Test Patterns reveal hypnotic new video for Trendsetter

West Coast based alternative electronic duo Test Patterns have released a new single, Trendsetter – their third of the year following on from ‘In the Red’ and ‘New Beginnings’, and we’re delighted to premiere the new accompanying video right here on Backseat Mafia today.

Taking it’s lead from the likes of Portishead, the track crackles and whirs with electronic sounds and singalong chorus, this icy synth line weaving in and out on occasion, as the duo make like The XX on the vocals, all soft vibes but killer melodies.

The accompanying video is beautifully shot and swings between the symbolism and, well, fun of the headless figure and the ambient patterns, which come to almost collide, the latter taking the lead as the video goes on.
