Irish band The Burma‘s new single ’23’ is a glittering jewel of a track: a widescreen cinematic pop anthem that positively glows, and we are honoured to premiere this sonic ray of light. A flowing pace set by a pattering percussion and shimmering guitars combine with velvet vocals to create something with a stately presence. A hint of a horn or synth refrain burnishes the edges.

The single heralds the band’s second album as well as their debut UK live performance.

The band says of the track:

’23’ is the first song we wrote and recorded for our second album. It’s one of those songs that came together really quickly. The song you hear now has barely changed from its initial conception, which is a rare thing for us!

The result is perfectly constructed for a stadium: anthemic and celestial fare that is transfixing in its elegance.

’23’ is available to pre-save here and is out through The Burma Music Group on 12 May 2023.

You can catch the band on tour on the following dates, including their first appearances in the UK, with tickets available here.

3 June – Wild Roots, Sligo

4 June – You Bloom, Co. Dublin

19 Aug – Canal Bar @ Dingwalls, Camden, London
