Left of the Dial is an international showcase festival that takes place in mid-October in the centre of Rotterdam. It offers a cross section of the most relevant alternative artists of the moment. The festival is named after a song by The Replacements. ‘Left of the Dial’ is a reference to American radio stations. To find the best alternative music, you had to turn the dial on your radio to the left.

Last week they announced yet more names to the 2023 edition and to say its looking tasty is an understatement. New additions include; Aoife Nessa Frances (IE) • Average Life Complaints (UK) • Bo Gritz (UK) • cruush (UK) • Dim Imagery (UK) • The Grogans (UK) • The Itch (UK) • Melin Melyn (UK) • Middleman (UK) • Naked Lungs (UK) • Plattenbau (DE) • Scott Hepple and The Sun Band (UK) • University (UK) • Vampire Boyfriend (NL) • Wesley Gonzalez (UK) • Winter Gardens (UK).

With these artists, so far they’re on a total of 85, with more to come.

Not content to just pull people to Rotterdam with amazing music, the organisers have also put together helpful guides to ensure people with all budgets can enjoy their city. Check out their budget guide here
