Driftwood Pyre from Minneapolis USA, are back with their new EP Strangeways, set for release on Record Store Day – 22nd April 2017 on EXAG Records and Backseat Mafia are pleased to offer you an exclusive stream.

Having begun in the winter of 2012, Liam Watkins and Aaron James found themselves in the midst of the Midwest’s flourishing psychedelic scene. Rising from the ashes of former projects (First Communion Afterparty, Rocking Horse People), they built a studio and began recording what would become the fledglings of their defining sound. By the end of 2012 they had ensnared Joe Werner and Jeanne Oss, before being completed by Courtney Olsen. Their sold out self-titled album was released in November 2015 and this EP has been much anticipated.

Strangeways begins where the previous one ends and does not take away from what we know, but allows a subtle evolution in style. This EP we are reliably informed is the bridge between the debut LP and the one set to come in the autumn.
