Basque country post-punk/synth-rock band Belako are on the cusp of releasing their new album ‘Render Me Numb, Trivial Violence’ via Primavera Sound’s in-house label El Segell on 23rd February. They’ve already released a couple of singles from it Render me Numb and Over the Edge, and they can add a third to that with their new single, Lungs.
It’s dark and addictive right from the off, the synth chords driven along by post-punk of the guitar, bass and drums, while over the top the laid back vocals just seem to drape themselves over the top of the accomapanying music. It trips onward, with a chorus that feels familiar in a ‘how come someones not written this tune before?’ sort of way.
