Charles Howl‘s new video “Never Forget What You Are” is the result of a fake acting workshop and casting call…

Surprised by the turnout, (especially considering the paucity of the lunch he had provided), Howl lets the emotion from the actors take centre stage, while the vocals are delivered almost anonymously, mostly from under the brim of a hat.  The contrast of the bouncy piano and the soaring uplifting message of the chorus with the downbeat verses allows the visuals from the actors to swing from depths of despair to the joy of fake rollercoasters.  The video implying an underlying message of being true to yourself despite any artificial chaos you’ve created around you.

Never Forget What You Are is the latest single from the My Idol Family album of last year, following on from Meet Lou’s Needs.

And he’s on tour in May –
Tuesday 29th May – The Castle, Manchester
Wednesday 30th May – Hug & Pint, Glasgow
Thursday 31st May – Shipping Forecast, Liverpool
Friday 1st June – The Waiting Room, London
Saturday 2nd June – Sticky Mike’s, Brighton
Thursday 7th June – One Trick Pony, Birmingham
Saturday 9th June – Fusion Arts Centre, Oxford
