Following the releases of their much anticipated album Lose, out now on Barsuk in their native US and tough love across the pond, comes the Milton Ladd directed video for the bands track Laramie. As the band explain “Our friend Milton Ladd is an awesomely talented artist and filmmaker who we were really keen to work with after seeing the videos he has done for Zambri and Hooray For Earth. It also gave us an excuse to hang out, build a huge rain machine on the roof of Joe’s car and drive around New Jersey getting stared at. It was a great time. Enjoy the video for “Laramie”! “
Certainly there’s plenty of rain, oceans, and splashing against windowscreens that obscure the view, generally silhouetted anyway, but it seems the perfect accompaniment to the track, right from the splash of synth right at the beginning, through the sweeping melodies and slow paced march of the track. It’s evocative, hazy stuff, as Joseph D’Agostino’s falsetto soars over the top of everything.
If you needed any more excuse to check them out, they’re about to tour with the legendary Bob Mould and Brand New.
