Seattle four piece Tacocat have revealed a new video for the third and final pre-release single from their forthcoming new album ‘This mess is a place’, out on the seminal Sub Pop records on May 3rd on all your favourites, well… LP/CD/Digital and Cassette anyway.
The Joke of Life is part-Elvis Costello’s Attractions, part Bangles (check out the up to date references) with some summery Eat Coast vibes thrown in there for good measure. It has just about the most lovable chorus imaginable, and if those girl harmonies don’t make your heart burst, then you’re clearly missing happiness.
The accompanying video is a mish mash (albeit a watchable one) of what appears to be home footage of the band on the road, partying, and generally going about their everyday lives. It certainly does nothing to distract from the star of the show, which is the song itself.
