The Shimmer Band pack a psychedelic punch with new single ‘Shoot Me Baby’.
The Bristol five-piece – Tom Newman (singer), Willz Hatcher (drums), Tom Smith (guitar/synths), Tom Kuras (bass) and Babsy (guitar) – are set to make heads spin with their pounding and twisting blend of psych-rock and pop. This reflected in a particularly trippy, flashing video that mashes together a live performance with strange rituals in a forest and archive video footage.
It’s full-on and full of swagger. I can’t really say that this single is breaking any new ground but I can easily imagine them smashing through it on stage at a host of festivals this year. 2016 may be their year to shine.
The Shimmer Band are currently finishing recording and mixing their debut album, which will be out spring 2016.
