Stretch your eyes is the new single from Danish star Agnes Obel, the fourth taken from her critically acclaimed album Citizen of Glass.
It Obel’s most successful album to date in the UK, doubling the first week sales of her previous album, 2013’s Aventine, and affording Obel her first top 30 record. It’s easy to see why listening to Stretch your eyes – full of theatrical intent and colourful orchestration, it sweeps forward and back, the slaps of the percussion and pops of the bassline providing a minimal accompanyment to Obel’s sweet and often haunting vocal, which once again she manages to drag a beautiful melody from.

Next month, Obel will embark on a headline North American tour, including an appearance at SXSW Festival in Austin TX. She will return to Europe in May for a string of dates which include London’s Roundhouse, her biggest headline UK show to date.
