Alice Ivy, the acclaimed Australian producer and songwriter, has unveiled her latest single, ‘Wildlife‘, a captivating sneak peek into her highly anticipated third studio album, ‘Do What Makes You Happy’, which is scheduled for release in 2024 under Helix Records.

Collaborating with Pip Norman and multi-platinum Dutch singer-songwriter Dotan, ‘Wildlife’ is a significant moment in Alice Ivy’s career as she lends her vocals to the track, reminiscent of her debut album ‘I’m Dreaming‘ released in 2018. Drawing inspiration from the eclectic sounds of Empire Of The Sun, ‘Wildlife’ skillfully combines acoustic and electronic elements, effortlessly transporting listeners to carefree drives with the windows down on hot Australian summer days. The collaborative spirit extends further with the single featuring guest vocals from Ben Townsend of Rest For The Wicked and drums tracked by Sean Hutchinson of Bleachers.

Described as a “happy little accident“, the song showcases Alice Ivy’s unique talent for assembling a diverse cast of collaborators for her projects. Shedding light on the creative process, Alice Ivy explained, “We started out sampling my Omnichord (which you can hear all over my new album), added some acoustic guitar and got a cool little vibe going. Then we went into the archives and salvaged an old chorus from a song Pip had started with the incredible Dotan. I tweaked the melody and it worked like magic!“

Following the recent release and triumph of ‘Broke My Heart ft. Mallrat and Jelani Blackman‘, Alice Ivy effortlessly sustains her momentum with a surge of critical acclaim and remarkable streaming numbers. Continuing on this trajectory of success only serves to affirm her status as both a skilled and widely recognized producer.

Beyond her solo achievements, Alice Ivy’s collaborative influence extends to noteworthy credits on Mallrat’s debut album, Boo Seeka’s ‘Stories’, and global features like ‘SYT’ with Jordana. Her eclectic array of festival performances, which includes prominent events like Splendour In The Grass, Groovin’ The Moo, Wine Machine, NYE In The Park, the F1 Australian Grand Prix, and Electric Forest in the US, not only highlights her global influence but also solidifies her standing as a vibrant and influential presence in the contemporary music scene. Her upcoming album, ‘Do What Makes You Happy’, also boasts a stellar lineup, including Mayer Hawthorne, Mallrat, Jelani Blackman, and others.
